A Melbourne-based wheelchair manufacturer is redefining mobility, with a $1.5 million federal grant set to accelerate its global reach.

Rove Concepts, based in Frankston , designs and builds fully customised manual wheelchairs tailored to each individual user.

Using advanced materials including titanium, carbon fibre and 3D-printed components, the company produces lightweight, high-performance chairs shaped around a person’s body, lifestyle and ambitions—from daily mobility to elite sport and adaptive beach use.

RPP FM reports, the funding, through the Cooperative Research Centre Projects program, will support robotics and automation, boosting local manufacturing and export capability in the rapidly growing assistive technology sector.

The project highlights a shift toward precision-built mobility solutions—where design, technology and independence meet.
