Australian researchers are working on a new AI model to provide mental health support to young people.
The study responds to concerns some existing chatbots are causing delusions and isolating the most vulnerable.
Melbourne University's Doctor Isobelle Scott says the new tool aims to provide ongoing support between medical appointments.
We have worked with young people on this project to see where they see real potential for these models, and that's around really enhancing care, rather than replacing it, so offering things like continuity between appointments.
