The Greens will oppose Labor's bid to reduce spending on the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

The program is expected to cost more than 50-billion dollars this financial year, and could exceed 100-billion dollars within a decade.

Growth in spending was over ten percent last year, and Labor wants to reduce it to between five and six percent.

In a statement, the Greens suggest cutting funds for AUKUS instead, saying for each dollar spent on the NDIS there is two-dollars-and-25-cents in economic benefits.
